Flight Simulator Project

During the summer of 2018, the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Flight Simulator was constructed at (Redacted for Review). The MAE Flight Simulator will be used to educate undergraduate students on the dynamics of flight and flight control from within the cockpit using a flight simulation software, X-Plane. Additionally, the flight simulator is a path to give graduate students a chance to develop their own control systems for aircraft using MATLAB with Flight Gear. This presentation will describe the construction process and design of the Flight Simulator built by four (XXX) Aerospace and Mechanical engineering students during the summer of 2018. Everything from construction of the frame to the computer hardware installed to the software downloaded will be covered. Additionally, some uses of the flight simulator for the students will be shown in more depth.
